Plates are made to be screwed to the truck bed.
Thats nice for tying down bicycles in the back of the truck, but are poor for tying down heavy loads.
Light Duty use only.

low profile, secures cargo well, i mounted them in the bed of my 1987 Chevrolet El Camino, looks good too.

Very Happy with these tie downs. However, I opted to upgrade the screws and took one of the screws and matched it up with one as similar as possible with stainless steel. The screws that come with the cleats is a self-drilling design. So I had to predrill the holes with the SS screws. Also I used a polyurethane caulk to bed the cleat as I attached them to my truck bed. Somewhat messy but really will extend the chance for rust to get started on my truck bed from drilling the holes.
